Mission of Chemistry
|
Chemistry is a central science of natural science research, whilst still comprising a strong fundamental chemical core, also touch on areas as diverse as molecular biology and materials science. The nature of modern chemistry is strongly interdisciplinary. We are going to look at applied scientific problems, including those of importance to the region from environmental monitoring to development of Chinese traditional medicines. Synthetic organic chemists are devoting much and much of our effort to drug design basing on the new knowledge of natural products and Chinese traditional medicines. Also, synthetic organic chemists are participating in the design and fabrication of tailor-made moleculear structures for emerging technologies in solar cells, energy storage and electroluminescent materials. | |
